The Iowa Open Education Action Team is excited to announce the recipients of the first annual Iowa OER Awards! These awards recognize educators across the state who have done impactful and thoughtful work in their courses through the use of open educational resources and practices. Our nominees showcase the full breadth of work happening to support student success and affordability across Iowa.

All Iowa educators, regardless of rank, were invited to nominate themselves or their peers for this competitive award opportunity, with only one award recipient selected for each of the 6 categories available:

• OER Adoption
• OER Adaptation
• OER Creation
• Supplementary Materials Development
• Open Pedagogy
• Open Educator*

This year, we received over 20 nominees spanning community colleges, Regent universities, independent institutions, and high schools. After review by a committee of educators, instructional designers, librarians, and administrators from across the state, the final recipients were selected.
